Sycamore Elementary School PTA

Sycamore PTA is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization.

  We provide opportunities for art, music, and community involvement with the PTA Reflections Program, Red Ribbon Week, and Music Van. The mission of the Sycamore PTA is to positively impact the lives of all children and families by representing our members, and empowering and supporting them with skills in advocacy, leadership, and communications.

We encourage parents, teachers, staff, extended family and members of our community to get involved and become a voice for the future of our children.  The PTA and its’ members will continue to set, meet and exceed our goals to provide an enriched, vibrant and challenging learning environment by working together.

Overview: What is PTA?

     PTA is the nation’s oldest, largest and highest profile volunteer organization working on behalf of public schools, children, and families. PTA volunteers work in their schools and communities to improve the education, health, and welfare of all children and youth.


At Sycamore Elementary, our PTA always strives to put the children first. Staff and PTA work together and create an environment that is educational, fun and safe. Activities and programs are always scheduled with the students in mind.

  • To promote the welfare of the children and youth in home, school, and community.
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
  • To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
  • To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, and social education. 



     Joining PTA supports local, state and national efforts to improve the education of children and the lives of families. Membership provides the opportunity for individuals to raise their voices with others throughout the state and nation to protect children’s rights. Membership ensures that PTA’s voice is heard on issues affecting young people as well as providing opportunities for parent education, communication, and leadership development. 


Monthly Meetings / Association Meetings

We conduct a monthly Board Meeting for those that would like to be actively involved in the planning & execution of fun events here at Sycamore and of course the financial decisions we make as an Association. Board Meetings are held monthly, typically the second Monday of the month at 1:00 pm in the MPR. If you would like to join us for a monthly Board Meeting please email us at so we can add you as a guest on our agenda. We hope you will join us! 
We also host 4 Association Meetings a school year where all parents may attend - you don't need to be added to the agenda.
